Indian operator Airtel has acquired mobile payment startup YTS Solutions for an undisclosed amount. Following this acquisition, Airtel Mcommerce Services Limited (AMSL) will merge the payments and remittance businesses of YTS. Manish Khera, MD & CFO at YTS, has been appointed as CEO of AMSL.Airtel plans to use the YST platform to proceed its portfolio in m-payments facilities and introduce supplementary products targeted at migrants in urban areas that have families in rural towns and villages.
Established in 2013, YTS currently offers B2B payment services such as wallet services, eKash Solutions for progress payments, MoSaPay for micro salary payments and Phatse for online payments.
