percentage is a number or ratio expressed as a fraction of 100. It is often denoted using the percent sign, "%", or the abbreviations "pct.", "pct"; sometimes the abbreviation "pc" is also used
This Is what Google Says
But All you have to remember is "100"

I repeat "100"

Now whenever you saw term Percentage OR % you just say it 100

Before we go further just quickly learn those fractions......AnyHow....

1/1 = 100%
1/2   =  50%
1/4   = 25%
1/8 =  12.5% OR 12 (1/2)%

1/3 = 33.33 % OR 33(1/3)%
1/6= 16.66 % OR 16(2/3)%

1/7 = 14.28 %
1/14 = 7.14 %

1/5 = 20%
1/10 = 10%

1/9=11.99 % OR 11(1/9) %
1/11 = 9.11 % OR 9(1/11) %

Remember All these fractions as a group as they mentioned.

Now the Real Formula
(1)

(2)

Whenever In the question Term Percentage is mentioned once we use formula no. 1 and where else wherever term percentage used more than once we're going to use formula no 2.

Take a look at example:

FORMULA 1
Ex.1 Salary of nattu kaka is 20% more than bagha then by how much salary of bagha is less than nattu kaka ?
Sol :
Remember Formula 1 MORE KEYWORD
 using This Formula
20/(100+20) = 20/120
= 1/6 = 16.66 %

See how simple is it to use this formula and its take hardly 5-10 seconds once you master this formula.

Ex.2 Tappu's age is 20% less than jethalal then by how much jethalal is older than tappu.
Sol:
Applying formula :

 20 / (100 - 20)

= 20 / 80

  =  1/4

= 25%

Q. Petrol prices are increased by 25% by how much % should mr. sodhi reduce his expences to not to effect his budget?
Q. Price of sugar is increased by 40% by how much % should a MRS. Daya jethalal gadha reduces consumption so there's no eefect on her expences?
Q.Ram salary is 50% more than shyam then by how much % shyam's salary is more than ram?
Q.Age of ravi is 45 % less than manav then by how much % manav is more than ravi?

Q.If side of square is increased by 20% what the effect on its area?
Ans. 16.66%
is your answer matching if so NO you're wrong

Remember formula of area of Square:
(side)2

that means percentage is using twice for suppose side is 20 m.
then area = 20*20
=400
heance we cannot apply formula no 1 so we need to see our next formula

FORMULA 2

Ex.3  Length Of rectangle is Increased by 20% and its breath by 15% then , what is the effect on area??

Let us use formula no 2 here
And always remember Increased Means A (+) Positive Sign And decreased means (-) negetive sign
 Here, m= +20
n= +15

so,  20 + 15 + (20*15/100)= 35 + 3

Hence our answer will be 38 %

Ex.4 Jethalal first increase a TV's mark price by 25% then allow a discount of 15% what is net Loss Gain Percent ?

Sol:
m = +25
n  = -15 (since discount means reduction of amount)

By Formula : + 25 - 15  + (+25)(-15)/100
=  10 - (325/100)

= 10 - 3.25

=6.25 %
See how easy is to apply this formula

So ans of the question on area of square would be
20 + 20 + (20*20/100)
= 40 + 4
=44%

Now i'm leaving some questions Try then And yeah ofcourse doubts can be posts on comment below:
