अफगानिस्तान युद्ध में काम आने वाला 4 हेलीकॉप्टर भारत से खरीद सकता है. इन हेलीकॉप्टरों को हासिल करने के बाद अफगानिस्तान को तालिबान से निपटने में मदद मिलेगी.
उम्मीद की जा रही है कि अफगानिस्तान के राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षा सलाहकार हनीफ अतमार जब इस सप्ताह के अंत में भारत के दौरे पर आएंगे, तो हेलीकॉप्टर को लेकर करार हो जाएगा.
रक्षा मामले में भारत से सहयोग लेने का अफगानिस्तान सरकार निर्णय काफी अहमियत रखता है. शुरुआत में राष्ट्रपति मोहम्मद अशरफ गनी ने इस मसले पर भारत के साथ करीबी रिश्ता रखने की बजाए पाकिस्तान को ज्यादा तरजीह दी थी. बाद में तालिबान से लगातार त्रस्त होने के बाद अफगानिस्तान भारत से मदद लेने को मजबूर हुआ.
